Permits & Licensing
Depending on where your stair lift is installed, a permit and inspection may be required. In order to protect you from risk, it is important to work with a provider who is accustomed to navigating the regulatory requirements for your application. Arrow Lift is a licensed, insured company with decades of experience in commercial and residential work.
In some states and municipalities, all stair lift installations including private residences require a permit and inspection. In other jurisdictions, a permit is only required for properties that are zoned commercial or industrial. This typically includes multi-family residential, churches, common public areas and outdoor environments as well. In some of these jurisdictions, a commercial installation requires a waiver, which must be applied for and granted before a permit can be issued.
In addition to a permit and inspection, most states requires special safety equipment or power sources if the installation is on a commercial property.
Arrow Lift will work with you to determine what is required for your property. In no circumstance will we install equipment without a permit where it is required by law. Further, we recommend you verify that any company providing stair lifts confirm that the permit and inspection fees are part of their written quote. As a property owner, you could be held liable for fines and loss of equipment in the event a stair lift is installed illegally.
